Prayers of the People—Pentecost B
Brothers and sisters, we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Holy Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words. Let us make our invocation, “Come, Holy Spirit. Come, Holy Spirit.”
Holy God, pour out your Spirit upon your Church. May our young people see visions; may our old people dream dreams. May all your ministers declare your salvation.
Silence
Come, Holy Spirit.
Come, Holy Spirit.
Holy God, pour out your Spirit upon all flesh. May young people see visions; may old people dream dreams. May all people experience your salvation.
Silence
Come, Holy Spirit.
Come, Holy Spirit.
Holy God, the whole creation groans for your redemption. You have filled the earth with good things; we often fail to appreciate those good things. Give us eyes to see your saving works in the world around us.
I ask your thanksgivings, followed by Silence
Come, Holy Spirit.
Come, Holy Spirit.
Holy God, we thank you for the rich and diverse religious community of our city. We agree and we disagree. Give us faith to trust you to guide all religious communities into all the truth.
Silence
Come, Holy Spirit.
Come, Holy Spirit.
Holy God, grant that all those who are sick and suffering, threatened and afraid may evermore rejoice in the Spirit's holy comfort.
I ask your petitions, followed by Silence
Come, Holy Spirit.
Come, Holy Spirit.
Holy God, you send forth your Spirit to create and renew. Give us patience to hope for that great and glorious day on which the dead shall be raised to new life in your Son Jesus.
Silence
Come, Holy Spirit.
Come, Holy Spirit.
