Prayers of the People: All Saints' Sunday B

Prayers of the People—All Saints’ Sunday B

The One who is seated on the eternal throne says, “See, I am making all things new.” Let us pray to the only One who makes us worthy, saying: “Cleanse our hands; Purify our hearts!”

God of the Saints, give us grace to follow your blessed saints in all virtuous and godly living. Embolden us to be the ones who unbind what you are bringing to new life.

Silence
Cleanse our hands;
Purify our hearts!

God of the Saints, you are the King of Glory: Guide the people of our land as we elect new leaders this Tuesday. May we never forget that you alone are our hope and salvation.

Silence

Cleanse our hands;
Purify our hearts!

God of the Saints, the earth is yours and all that is in it, the world and all who dwell therein. May we be careful with your stuff and respect all that you have made.

Silence

Cleanse our hands;
Purify our hearts!

God of the Saints, we pray for all those who partner with us as the Diocese of Ohio, especially those in our Mission Area. Knit us together in one communion and fellowship and then use us, we pray, to proclaim your Kingdom in Northern Ohio.

I ask your thanksgivings, followed by Silence

Cleanse our hands;
Purify our hearts!

God of the Saints, we hope for the day when you will wipe away the tears from all faces. Give us a glimpse of what is to come: heal and comfort those for whom we pray—especially those who mourn.

I ask your petitions, followed by Silence

Cleanse our hands;
Purify our hearts!

God of the Saints, we trust our lives and the lives of the dead to you. And we pray for the day when death will be no more, when mourning and crying and pain will be no more.

Silence

Cleanse our hands;

Prayers of the People: Proper 23B

Prayers of the People—Proper 23B (SC Track)

My sisters and brothers, let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.  Trusting in God’s grace, we pray, “Be not far from us, O God; for we put our trust in you.”

Holy God, give us grace to follow Jesus. Fill us where we are found lacking.  Purge from us all those things that would cause us to go away from the path Jesus has marked for us.

Silence

Be not far from us, O God;
for we put our trust in you.

Almighty God, we pray for all those who feel forsaken. We pray that you hear the bitter complaints of the oppressed and forlorn.  Answer their cries and be their deliverer.

Silence

Be not far from us, O God;
for we put our trust in you.

Mighty Creator, you are great in power and yet you sympathize with our weakness: reveal yourself to us through the vast diversity of creation. We stand in awe of your severity and your delicacy.

Silence

Be not far from us, O God;
for we put our trust in you.

Bless, Great Healer, all doctors, nurses, and all those who work for the wellness of others.  May your grace always precede and follow them, that they may be good stewards of their gifts and remember that all life and healing comes from you.

I ask your thanksgivings, followed by Silence

Be not far from us, O God;
for we put our trust in you.

Holy One, from birth until even this moment your loving gaze has never faltered.  Just as you did for our forebears, heal and deliver those who trust in you.

I ask your petitions, followed by Silence

Be not far from us, O God;
for we put our trust in you.

O God, for you all things are possible. Only by your grace are we saved.  Grant us, with all those who have followed your Son in ages past, eternal life.

Silence
Be not far from us, O God;
for we put our trust in you.
